Daniel Kent Scott is a native North Carolinian, who grew up in Historic Hillsborough, Orange County, NC. He graduated from Orange High School in 1972, and later from Guilford College, he received a B.S. in Political Science.
Kent has been married to Nina B. Scott for twenty one years, and has one child, Jessica, both pictured above with Kent at Christmas, '97. Kent built his first house in 1978, and became a home builder in 1986. He currently owns and operates D. Kent Scott Builders Co. He concentrates on speculative (spec) houses and custom- built homes in Orange and the surrounding counties.
Kent is a hands-on builder who is on the job site during the entire construction process. In addition to making the most of the finished and unfinished spaces of a house, Kent uses only high quality building materials and supplies. Kent prides himself with retaining some of the same sub-contractors he originally started with as a professional builder. This is credited to Kent's strong emphasis on integrity and good, reliable relationships. Kent makes his word his bond, and is honest with his business deals on all levels. In fact, it is possible that Kent cares so much for his customers and the end product of his houses to his own detriment.
